10-03-2010 In response to the failed negotiations by Mazarine with Chief Minister Punjab, Anjuman Mazarine Punjab-AMP and GCAP-Pakistan have led a long march from Khanewal District to Lahore for the demanding of tenant and farmer land rights. The tenants have been campaigning for their rights for the last ten years.

09-03-2010 The Indian Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Scheme (MGNREGS) has allowed for many village women to conduct unskilled labor for a minimum wage. However, one study carried out in a district in Rajasthan suggests that the realities on the ground are inadequate and delayed payments, and overly strenuous work. The outcome of the study has been the release of at least one sarpanch and an enhanced public awareness of the power of grassroots voices.
 
 
 
09-03-2010 A small Muslim village in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh suffered for many years from poor sanitary conditions that led to various diseases and escalated to deaths. With the help of DEHAT, a millennium campaign NGO partner, the women of the village pursued loans to construct toilets and improve overall village sanitation.

The pictures, videos, and artwork collected from several MDG thematically linked activities will be made into a multimedia petition and handed over to political leaders.
 
 
 
16-02-2010 For the first time in history, India’s civil society has carried out a national ‘peoples’ review of the Planning Commission’s five-year plan. The compiled analyses of the eleventh plan, determined by regional mid-term appraisals and national civil society representatives, were presented on February 4th and 5th at the Indian Social Institute in Lodi Colony, New Delhi.
