State consultations to review India's 11th Five Year Plan
The anti-poverty network Wada Na Todo Abhiyan will lead a series of state level consultations in India in the coming months to consolidate people’s voices for effective implementation of the remaining Eleventh Five Year Plan.
New Delhi: For the first time since the political independence of the country, people will participate in reviewing the planning process of the country on a large scale.
Wada Na Todo Abhiyan (WNTA) is conducting 15 state and regional consultations on a mid-term review of the Eleventh Five Year Plan to consolidate people’s voices towards effective implementation of the same for the remaining period from the perspective of poor and marginalised sections of the society.
The state consultations will provide a space for policy makers, academics, civil society and common people to come together on a common platform to deliberate on the gaps in the Eleventh Five Year plan and collectively evolve corrective mechanisms.
The People's Mid Term Appraisal is an outcome of a consistent policy engagement led by WNTA and its more than 4,000 partners across the country along with several networks and coalitions, for restoring democratic rights of the people of India to participate in the process of planning and evaluation.

The Rajasthan State Consultation is organized by CECOEDECON and others on December 4, 2009 at IDS Jhalna, Jaipur.
The Uttar Pradesh State Consultation is being organized by UPVAN and others on December 5, 2009 at Sahbhagi Shikshan Kendra, Lucknow.
The Orissa State Consultation is being organized jointly by Katha Rakha Abhijan -Wada Na Todo Abhiyah, Orissa, Srusti and Network for Social Accountability (NSA) on December 5, 2009 at Redcross Bhawan, Bhubaneswar.
The Maharashtra State Consultation is being organized by Wada Na Todo Mahaabhiyan, Maharashtra and YUVA on December 5, 2009 at Indian Institute of Education, Off Karve Road, Cosmos Bank Lane, Near Solaris Gym, J.P. Naik Path, Kothrud, Pune.
