20-02-2010 End discrimination Bookmark and Share 15 February 2010 "Understanding Untouchability" prepared by Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights and Navsarjan Trust, Gujrat outlines a pattern of persistent discrimination against Dalits in India. It is based on research carried out across 1589 villages, highlighting caste-based discrimination as the most complex human rights issue impeding inclusive development interventions.
 
 
 
06-02-2010 The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs recommends a social exclusion approach to poverty analysis that puts decent jobs at the centre of development strategies. It calls for the protection of public social expenditure; basic social security packages and stabilization funds that can help create the necessary fiscal space to smoothen business cycles with active labour market policies.

The report We have the Promises of the World details ongoing violation of rights in five areas: attacks on women in public life; violence against women; child and forced marriage; access to justice; and girls' access to secondary education.

19-11-2009 The latest UNFPA report shows that women are more likely than men to die in natural disasters, including those related to extreme weather events. It calls on governments to plan ahead to strengthen risk reduction, preparedness and management of disasters and address the potential displacement of people.
